‘Bishop’s Commendation’

Compton & Up Marden C of E School, a small West Sussex/Hampshire border primary school, were presented with the ‘Bishop’s Commendation’ by Bishop Lindsay, Bishop of Horsham, for their work in developing their Christian ethos. The school who draw pupils from a very wide catchment area, were very proud to be the only Church of England West Sussex school to be presented with the award this year. Weekly services are held in St Mary’s Church and a school choir supports the service. The local authority consider Compton to be an outstanding school in the pastoral care it provides for its pupils having also obtained Healthy School Status this year.
